Don’t waste precious time pursuing colleges that aren’t right for you. This workshop will guide you in setting the criteria and priorities that will ensure your happiness on campus.
Sure, you have to think about tuition costs, distance from home, and campus size. But you also need to learn about other, often overlooked factors, that students really use to decide what college to attend: the social tone, having the right major for the right career, and more.
After attending this workshop, you’ll have a list of twenty colleges that meet your needs!

Develop Your College Timeline
Every college has deadlines. Turning materials in close to the deadline is a surefire way to get your application overlooked.
Stay on track and simplify your college application process with our common-sense timeline.
You’ll be sure to get ALL your materials in and you won’t forget important details after you develop your timeline. Plus, it makes the college admission process less overwhelming.
Bring a list of 10-20 colleges that you’re interested in. Or attend WYM Course 100 first (see “Find the College that Fits You Best” above).

Learning about careers is fun and motivating. Whether you’re college-bound or career-bound, this workshop will point the way!
During this workshop, you will identify three career tracks that can work for you. You will then learn about job growth projections, salary ranges, the working conditions and educational requirements for those careers. You’ll also develop a plan to get ‘real-life experience’ in each of these tracks before investing money or time in training and education.

Don’t let your college essay get overlooked! Your personal statement gives you the opportunity to distinguish yourself from the other applicants and show colleges what makes you, unique.
During this workshop, you will learn what a “personal reflective essay” (“personal statement”) is all about, and what topics and techniques work to get accepted at college.
Develop your essay theme and draft in this workshop that includes two hours of individual guidance from a trained creative writing tutor!

Who knew that your MySpace or Facebook page was going to be looked at for college acceptance? Let us help you clean it up!
Also, get ready for the all-important personal interview in this engaging role-playing workshop. You’ll see how top students used the right body language, vocal tone, word choice and “message”.
In this workshop, learn how to best present yourself in all areas of the application process and learn the right way to say that “I’m right for this college!”
