Jill Bernaciak says, “What’s Your Major? SM started in 2001 after twenty-five years of corporate marketing and publishing experience. The concept specifically grew out of my work as an educational publisher for American Greetings Corporation.” As creator of the Learning Horizons product line, Jill developed over 800 books and activities in basic school skills, working with fourteen leading educational publishers, curriculum developers, teachers and parents. “I realized that career materials for high schools are under-funded, in short supply across the school publishing industry, so at the school level, the materials on hand can be uninspired or outdated,” she explains. At What’s Your Major SM, we developed a proprietary approach, using cutting-edge new career development tools. We also call upon the teachings from Multiple Intelligences Theory to help students realize their potential.”
Jill has distributed educational materials through alliances with The National PTA, Parents Magazine, Nickelodeon, and Harvard University.
Jill advises students and teaches marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate level at John Carroll University and Notre Dame College of Ohio. She holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree, and a certificate in College Counseling from UCLA with graduate studies in financial aid, college admissions processing, career assessments, special needs counseling, and school psychology. Her undergraduate studies focused on secondary education in Speech, English and Reading Instruction.
